Timeline Notes:
- Kaidy goes back to Ed and Izzy's world; they're in a port. She accidentally/through sheer nosiness walks in on Izzy being confronted by his ex-shipmates/abusers. FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT
- Post-fight, she offers Izzy a hug. He says 'fuck off'. Eeeeeeeeventually while they're drinking he leans against her and she puts an arm around his shoulders briefly. They agree that Kaidy will completely forget anything she saw/heard and he won't tell Martin that she killed people.
- Some Time Later, they're in the bar in various groups, chatting on the sofas. Eventually, Izzy falls asleep on Kaidy's shoulder; she threatens anyone who wakes him up or takes the piss with extensive mutilation. (She also gets him a blanket.) This is never mentioned again by either of them.
- Not That Much Time Later, Martin and Kaidy are asleep in their room upstairs and are woken by a knock at the door. When Kaidy opens it, she finds a very distressed Izzy smelling strongly of the Dutch Courage required to get him to their door. He mumbles something about a bad night and asks to sleep at the foot of their bed. Kaidy and Martin discuss, agree to let him in, but insist he takes the couch. ("Dogs sleep on the floor, Iz. You're a human, you get the sofa.") Some Nightmares Later, he winds up in their bed. The next morning, he brings them tea while they're still asleep and flees in shame.
- Afterwards (possibly, though not necessarily, the next day) Martin and Kaidy manage to find him in the bar. Nobody is entirely sure how to discuss what happened, eventually Kaidy has a fit of inspiration and just goes, matter-of-factly, "Hey, next time you come back, can we get bacon butties as well?"
- There are a few platonic repeats of this. They find him pyjamas. (Black, obviously.) Izzy slowly moves up the bed from just within reach of his hair from them to almost completely between them.
- Eventually, after some pre-discussion, Martin and Kaidy are awake when Izzy flees. "Look, I didn't think you were into women, but if you want to stick around... you're welcome to join in." Izzy says, "Fuck off." Izzy doesn't move. Kaidy offers him her hand.
